Thalassaemia Screening Camp

An awareness display and blood screening for thalassaemia, organised by the ISSA Blood Donation Society for students and staff.

The ISSA Blood Donation Society organised a Thalassaemia Screening Camp at ISSA Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, Gujranwala.

Awareness

Students prepared a display explaining thalassaemia — its definition, types, symptoms and treatment — so that visitors could understand the condition before being tested. Thalassaemia is an inherited blood disorder; carriers usually have no symptoms, which is why a blood test is the only way to know.

Screening

Blood samples were taken at the camp for screening. Members and volunteers wore red ribbons for the day, and the society presented souvenirs to the guests who supported the camp.
