Blood Screening Camp 2026
2026

Student society
The ISSA Blood Donation Society is a student society at ISSA Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, Gujranwala. Its members organise screening camps on campus so that students and staff know their blood group, understand thalassaemia, and are ready to give blood when a patient needs it.
Every blood transfusion depends on matching the donor's and the patient's blood group — A, B, AB or O — and Rh factor (positive or negative). Many young people do not know their own group. A free, quick test at the society's camp means that, in an emergency, a student can step forward as a donor without delay and has the result ready for their medical records.
Thalassaemia is an inherited blood disorder. People who carry the trait usually feel healthy, so many do not know they are carriers until a blood test shows it. The society's thalassaemia camp explains what thalassaemia is, its types, symptoms and treatment, and offers screening so that students can make informed decisions for themselves and their families.
Camps are announced on campus. Students who would like to be tested, donate or volunteer at the next camp can ask at the ISSA administration office or call 055 3892900.
