Rescue 1122 First Aid and CPR Training

Trainers from Rescue 1122, the Punjab Emergency Service, taught ISSA students and faculty cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic first aid, with hands-on demonstrations on CPR manikins.

Trainers from Rescue 1122, the Punjab Emergency Service, held a first-aid and CPR training session for students and faculty at ISSA Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, Gujranwala.

What the training covered

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The trainers demonstrated chest compressions and rescue breathing on CPR training manikins, and explained what to do in the first minutes after someone collapses.
  • Basic first aid. Using a first-aid kit, they showed how to respond to common injuries until professional help arrives.
  • Fire safety. A fire extinguisher was demonstrated as part of the session.

Why it matters for healthcare students

Pharm-D, DPT and allied health students will work with patients for the rest of their careers. Knowing how to recognise an emergency, call for help and start CPR is a skill every healthcare professional — and every citizen — should have. Training delivered by Rescue 1122's own emergency staff gives students practical, real-world guidance.

In an emergency in Punjab, call 1122.
